Target Audience: All registered sonographers, student sonographers, and radiologic technologists who desire entry level training with vascular ultrasound.
Overall goal of activity: To enhance the knowledge and skills in the areas of vascular technology, sonographic principles and instrumention, and other topics related to sonography
Description: - This course focuses on the technical aspects of ultrasound assessment of extremity venous system including diagnosis of venous thrombosis, venous insufficiency and non-vascular pathology found during venous examination. Topics will include an introduction to ultrasound physics and its specific application to venous hemodynamics, anatomy of lower and upper extremity venous systems, mechanisms of disease, pitfalls of venous duplex, and scanning tips.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
Approved for up to 24 SDMS CMEs
SDMS CMEs accepted as ARRT Category A credits
