Royal Philips Electronics Innovations to help radiologists

Philips showcased its two new innovations at the 94th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) which was held in Chicago. These two new innovations will help radiologists to save time and improve patient diagnosis.

The first is closed loop imaging for scanning suite, which will be working with University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC). However this closed loop imaging is in trail phase. The imaging loop actually starts with doctor giving order for imaging exam and the process is completed when the image results are informed to the doctor and patient. The trail will give complete view of radiology workflow and integrate with information and imaging systems. This eradicates the inefficiency at every level in the imaging loop. The integrated approach removes all the hassles of imaging services in the hospital and provides a coordinated approach with doctor and radiologists.

These tests of University of Chicago Medical Center reinstated the contemporary paper oriented CT protocol system. Physical access of a catalog of images demanded, along with contrast and dose necessities- with an automatic electronic patient protocol method which employs a Philips Tablet PC for wireless admittance to appropriate patient and scrutinizing protocol data. Protocol locale is mechanically converse to the CT scanner, abridging CT scanning by transferring all important clinical data and protocol designation, thus eliminating the need of manual entry.
