radRounds (BOSTON) - This year, thousands of radiologists and medical imaging professionals will convene in the city of Boston to join in this year's annual ARRS meeting.
Message from
Jack Crowe, MD - President of ARRS:
"... Radiologists, residents, and their guests will gather in Boston for the ARRS’ 2009 Annual Meeting for educational opportunities, social camaraderie, and matchless professional opportunities. It is no coincidence that we are meeting in Boston, the cradle of American independence, at a critical time in our profession. More than 230 years ago a group of Americans of diverse backgrounds and personal interests set aside their differences to overcome significant issues in the common interest of shaping the future of a young nation-to-be. Today, we as a profession face a similar situation in an entirely different light. As individuals, we practice our specialty of radiology in small towns, large group practices, or white-towered academic centers. Yet, collectively we face an array of exigent issues such as increasing over-sight, declining reimbursement rates, and diminishing access. It is only as a collective body with a unified voice that we can successfully meet these modern-day challenges and focus our knowledge, time, and energy on delivering the highest quality of health care to our patients. The 2009 ARRS Annual Meeting offers you and your colleagues the opportunity to learn, share, and contribute to our collective professional goals. The 2009 meeting features many of the popular activities that you have come to expect, yet also includes some noteworthy changes that will enhance your meeting experience. Many of those changes are spotlighted in this issue of ARRS InPractice; I am sure you will share my enthusiasm and interest in [this] year’s gathering. I look forward to seeing you in Boston as we continue the radiology revolution" For more details, please see below. 109th ARRS (Annual American Roentgen Ray Society) Sunday, April 26, 2009 - Friday, May 1, 2009 Boston, MA MEETING SPONSOR: ARRS, The American Roentgen Ray Society P.O.
