Course Objectives:
At the completion of this program, the participant should be able to:

1. Explain routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signatures, color characteristics, and Doppler measurements in a normal carotid, TCD, peripheral vascular, and renal duplex/color flow imaging examinations.
2. Recognize abnormal spectral Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid, TCD, peripheral arterial and venous disease, and renal artery stenosis.
3. Discuss Intima-Media Thickness measurements and evaluation and their clinical significance as a screening method for cardiovascular disease.
4. Discuss the role of indirect testing for the evaluation of lower extremity arterial disease.
5. Review complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in an interactive interpretation session format.
6. Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret vascular ultrasound examinations.
7. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting (ideally under supervised conditions) until an accepted level of proficiency is achieved.

Who Can Attend?

Physicians, sonographers and other medical professionals who are at entry level of performing and/or interpreting carotid, peripheral vascular, TCD/TCI and renal Doppler examinations.
