Description:
Diagnostic ultrasound is an easy, accurate and cost effective imaging tool available to expedite patient diagnosis and ultimately patient care. The focus of this three day course is to provide participants with the “need to know” information to efficiently and effectively complete a general abdominal ultrasound procedure. The course begins with basic ultrasound techniques involved in completing an abdominal ultrasound series and general handling of the ultrasound device. The course comprises an introduction to normal ultrasound anatomy of the abdominal organs, followed by lecture presentations of the common pathologic changes encountered in a diagnostic procedure.
Lecture is followed each day by a faculty supervised hands on ultrasound scan lab. The Interactive scan lab with live models and small groups allow each participant ample opportunity to gain the knowledge and skill needed to independently perform a basic abdominal ultrasound procedure.
