MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This activity has been designed for radiologists and cardiologists in clinical practice who wish to gain knowledge of new Cardiac CT techniques and case review experience which can be used towards meeting new ACC/AHA guidelines for Level II training in this area.

Part I of the course is composed of didactic lectures. The curriculum will cover all aspects of Cardiac CTA including patient selection, scan protocol interpretation and post processing. Didactic lectures will address the clinical application and Cardiac CT. This course will also cover reimbursement, setting up a Cardiac CT practice and utility of Cardiac CT versus other imaging techniques.

Physicians registered for Part II will review cardiac CT cases at individual workstations under the supervision of one of our course faculty. Physicians will review for 45 minute periods which will be followed by 15 minute instructor-led review of the same cases. At the conclusion of both case session days, physicians will have reviewed 75 CT cases toward their certification requirements.

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

1. Analyze coronary artery anatomy, patho-physiology and disease patterns.
2. Select the appropriate patients and identify how to prepare them for Cardiac CT.
3. Use the correct technique to perform Cardiac CT.
4. Compare the clinical utility of Cardiac CT with that of stress tests, cardiac MR and cardiac catheterization.
5. Describe how a 64-slice volume CT scanner will affect Cardiac CT
6. Identify the role of Cardiac CT patients pre and post ablation for atrial fibrillation
7. Evaluate the use of Cardiac CT in triaging patients with chest pain in the emergency department
8. Explain current and future issues affecting reimbursement for Cardiac CT.
