Connecting Radiology | Enabling collaboration and professional development

We surveyed an anonymous prominent academic radiologist at a "top tier" radiology department and also an active private practice radiologist who is a partner at a 20+ person group. Here are our results, just in time for assisting the current applicants to various radiology residency programs! Take these survey results with a grain of salt and use your best judgement as these are the subjective and expressed views of two individuals but nonetheless very interesting!

Academic Radiologist believes the top 10 radiology residency programs are as follows:
1. MIR - Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, St. Louis, MO
2. MGH - Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA
3. UCSF - University of California, San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
4. Penn - University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA
5. JHU - Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, MD
6. NYU - New York University, New York, NY
7. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI
8. Duke University, Durham, NC

Wow, nice info but definitely do take this info with a grain of salt. A word of advice to current applicants---do your best!! No matter where you end up, your career in radiology will be bright. Don't get caught up in going to a "Top 10 Radiology Residency Program" although it does help--you will still be a great physician and radiologist no matter where you go. Just perform to the top of your game no matter what!
