The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the final rule on the 2011 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) for public viewing on November 2, 2010. There is a 60 day comment period ending on January 2, 2011. The official version of this regulation will be published in the Nov. 29, 2010 Federal Register. Below are brief highlights of the final decisions that were made affecting this payment system for 2011 that may be of interest to radiology and radiation oncology. All changes in rule are effective January 1, 2011, unless otherwise specified.
