SECURING HOUSING
Maryland, DC, Virginia Housing:
Although it is difficult to stay up-to-date on the dynamic rental housing market, there are many fully furnished options.
Because the AIRP course is only four weeks, many leasing companies will not book your rental until very close to your arrival as a longer-term lease is preferred by the rental company. This means that availability becomes worse as you get closer to the start of the course.
Unfortunately, there is little you can do about the last minute nature of securing housing with most furnished corporate apartments. If you find a place that is available, you will likely need to call periodically to check on the occupancy status.
Apartments are also advertised on Craigslist and Vacation Rentals by Owner (VRBO), where you can search more than 140,000 properties worldwide. Dealing directly with owners can lower costs as many people will negotiate. However, this option may not provide you with the reassurance of leasing through a reputable company. Always be aware of the possibility of fraudulent activity.
