MedPAC Recommends Prior Authorization for Advanced Imaging Recommended [NEWS ALERT]

NEWS ALERT - In a vote by MedPAC, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, there was a near unanimous vote of 15-1 to recommend that physicians who order imaging Medicare patients obtain prior authorization for advanced imaging. The one caveat is that MedPAC for now has only recommended the referring physicians who order more imaging studies on average when compared to their colleagues do so.
