MEETING DESCRIPTION:
At the completion of the program, the participant should be able to:

1. Discuss Doppler/Color physics, factors affecting optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen Doppler/Color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.
2. Describe IMT measurements and evaluation and correlation with cardiovascular disease.
3. Explain routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signatures, color characteristics, and Doppler measurements in a norma carotid and peripheral vascular examinations.
4. Recognize abnormal spectral Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral arterial and venous disease.
5. Discuss the role of indirect testing in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial disease.
6. Apply diagnostic criteria and structure a formal report for evaluation of carotid, peripheral venous and arterial disease.
7. Review complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in interactive interpretation session format.
8. Explain the role of ultrasound in the post-intervention examination.
9. Describe ultrasound findings associated with aortic endograft leaks.
10. Describe normal and abnormal spectral Doppler charcteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with renal artery evaluation and dialysis access graft evaluation.
11. Increase participant’s knowledge to better interpret vascular ultrasound examinations.
12. Optional lunch session: Identify areas of weakness to better prepare for the RPVI examination.
