MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This course is an intensive review and update of clinical imaging of the abdomen and pelvis. It will provide a thorough understanding of state-of-the-art imaging methods as they pertain to current clinical practice. Lecture topics will include established techniques and technical advances in CT and MRI as they pertain to the gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems. Other lecture highlights include CT/MR cholangiography, imaging of Bariatric surgery, and CT/MR applications to obstetric/gynecologic imaging. The faculty will review core concepts as well as indicate future directions emerging in academic practice. Practical techniques will be presented.
This course is intended as a review of abdominal topics relevant to clinical and academic radiologists that are applicable to daily practice.
At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

2. Recognize the most common medical issues seen in abdominal imaging and take appropriate measures to avoid these problems;
3. Prevent and avoid common pitfalls in abdomino-pelvic imaging and interpretation;
4. Recognize the indications for the use of Ultrasound as an alternative or complement to CT/MR;
