Statement of Need
The mission of the SCCT is to foster optimal clinical
effectiveness of cardiovascular CT through professional

This meeting will offer programming including the most recent developments in CT technology, scan and interpretation protocols, as well as current clinical applications and limitations.
Overall Objectives
This activity is designed to provide current evidence-based
information on the technical principles, methods, clinical results, potential applications and limitations of cardiovascular CT. The goal of the meeting is to increase the knowledge and improve the competency and performance of physicians in the area of cardiovascular CT in order to improve overall patient diagnosis and care.
After participating in this activity, the participants should be
better able to:
• Describe the technical principles of cardiovascular CT imaging
• Identify the clinical indications for cardiovascular
CT scanning
• Explain the limitations of cardiovascular CT imaging
• Explain potential roles for cardiovascular CT beyond
coronary CT angiography
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the ACCME through the joint sponsorship of Tulane University Health Sciences Center and the SCCT. Tulane University Health Sciences Center is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
