Course Purpose

This 2-day comprehensive review is designed for physicians preparing to take the ARDMS Registered Physician in Vascular
Interpretation (RPVI) board examination. The course is based on the information included on the ARDMS RPVI examination content outline. I

This Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation exam review is structured with exam specific tutorials, interactive case study scenarios and multiple “mock” examinations using our audience response system.

Can’t Attend in Person? Attend a Live Video Webinar

This review is also being offered as a live, interactive video webinar. Questions can be submitted to instructors throughout the review via e-mail. Webinar participants will also receive the course syllabus and mock exam in a pdf format (since the live audience will use an audience response system to participate in the mock exam, tabulation of test results and identification of areas of weakness are up to self audit for online participants). The review will be available as an On Demand Webinar after the live event is completed (additional cost).

Course Objectives:
At the completion of this program, the participant should be able to:

1. Discuss Doppler/Color physics, factors affecting optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen Doppler/Color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.
2. Explain routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signatures, color characteristics, and Doppler measurements in normal carotid and peripheral vascular examinations.
3. Recognize abnormal spectral Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral arterial and venous disease.
4. Discuss the role of indirect testing in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial/venous disease.
5. Review complex carotid & peripheral vascular case studies in interactive interpretation session format.
6. Explain the role of ultrasound in the post-intervention examination.
7. Describe ultrasound findings associated with aortic endograft leaks.
8. Describe normal and abnormal spectral Doppler characteristics and diagnostic criteria associated with renal artery evaluation and dialysis access graft evaluation.
9. Discuss the role of TCD vascular ultrasound and TCD exam findings.
10. Increase the participants’ knowledge to better interpret vascular ultrasound procedures.
11. Identify areas of weakness to better prepare for the RPVI exam.
