review is designed for physicians preparing to take the ARDMS Register
ed Physician in Vascular\nInterpretation (RPVI) board examination. The
course is based on the information included on the ARDMS RPVI examina
tion content outline. I\n\nThis Registered Physician in Vascular Inter
pretation exam review is structured with exam specific tutorials, inte
ractive case study scenarios and multiple “mock” examinations usin
g our audience response system.\n\nCan’t Attend in Person? Attend a
Live Video Webinar\n\nThis review is also being offered as a live, int
eractive video webinar. Questions can be submitted to instructors thro
ughout the review via e-mail. Webinar participants will also receive t
he course syllabus and mock exam in a pdf format (since the live audie
nce will use an audience response system to participate in the mock ex
am, tabulation of test results and identification of areas of weakness
are up to self audit for online participants). The review will be ava
ilable as an On Demand Webinar after the live event is completed (addi
tional cost).\n\nCourse Objectives:\nAt the completion of this program
, the participant should be able to:\n\n1. Discuss Doppler/Color physi
cs, factors affecting optimal Doppler examinations and commonly seen D
oppler/Color artifacts, which may affect diagnostic accuracy.\n2. Expl
ain routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signat
ures, color characteristics, and Doppler measurements in normal caroti
d and peripheral vascular examinations.\n3. Recognize abnormal spectra
l Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral
arterial and venous disease.\n4. Discuss the role of indirect testing
in the evaluation of lower extremity arterial/venous disease.\n5. Revi
ew complex carotid & peripheral vascular case studies in interactive i
nterpretation session format.\n6. Explain the role of ultrasound in th
 e post-intervention examination.\n7. Describe ultrasound findings asso
ciated with aortic endograft leaks.\n8. Describe normal and abnormal s
pectral Doppler characteristics and diagnostic criteria associated wit
h renal artery evaluation and dialysis access graft evaluation.\n9. Di
scuss the role of TCD vascular ultrasound and TCD exam findings.\n10.
Increase the participants’ knowledge to better interpret vascular ul
trasound procedures.\n11. Identify areas of weakness to better prepare
  for the RPVI exam.\n\nCourse Topics:\n\n• Ultrasound physics\n• Q
uality Assurance/Safety\n• Carotid, includes stents and vertebral\n
Carotid and TCD (vessel depth and direction)\n• Carotid cases\n
Abdominal/Visceral Duplex and case studies\n• Peripheral arterial
 - Indirect\n• Peripheral arterial duplex\n• Grafts/Intraoperative
 lecture\n• Peripheral arterial cases\n• Endografts/Dialysis\n• V
enous duplex\n• Venous Insufficiency and physiologic testing\n• Ve
nous cases\n• Test taking tips\n• Self assessment “Mock Exam”\
n\nWho Can Attend?\n\nAny physician preparing to take the RPVI examina
tion and physicians who desire a comprehensive review of vascular ultr
asound or who need to fulfill vascular CME requirements. Also, sonogra
phers and vascular technologists who desire a comprehensive review of
vascular interpretation and/or need to fulfill CME credit requirements
