Event Description

Diagnostic medicine has come a long way since the time when the best diagnosis was an autopsy and medical imaging has come a long way from the cardboard cassette. Come and join us for a look at where we have been and where we are going! Medical imaging is revolutionizing the way we look at the world. We can look beyond simple fractures into the world of the human genome and molecular imaging; we can use medical imaging techniques to look at the recent past and ancient past through forensic radiography.

How does forensic radiography fit in today's society, are we better equipped to detect child abuse and criminal cases? What are the technologist's ethical and legal obligations and constraints? How are we going to avoid burn-out in a stressful and fast-paced career that evolves constantly? Come and investigate some really interesting presentations and join your "old dog" colleagues for some quality networking.

Course Topics
• Introduction to Forensic Radiology
• Technique formulation
• Pediatric Tips and tricks for obtaining quality images
• Detecting child abuse
• Law and ethics for technologists
• Avoiding burnout in radiology related careers
