Course Itinerary
Course Objectives:
At the completion of the program the participant should be able to:
1. Explain the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics/instrumentation.
2. Describe the abdominal cross-sectional anatomy, scan protocols and routine measurements.
3. Identify normal imaging characteristics of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and abdominal vasculature.
4. Discuss imaging characteristics of commonly seen pathology associated with the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen kidneys, retroperitoneum, and vasculature.
5. Describe scanning protocols and normal/abnormal characteristics for the evaluation of the thyroid, testicles, and appendix.
6. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting, under supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been achieved.
7. Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret examinations.
