Quality management (QM) is of great importance for hospital and clinic-based radiology departments accredited through the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). It is also an important part of mammography and compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). QM requires a working knowledge of the quality improvement (QI) process and tools, quality control (QC), equipment testing and regulatory guidelines. You will learn the basics of the quality management process from the theoretical to practical application. A combination of experts will introduce you to the fundamentals of QM. You will learn from the pros how QM has evolved and how QI has changed. You will receive “hands-on” application in designing QI monitors for your facility. You will learn how a well-designed QM program will improve imaging quality and patient care.

In addition to the QC testing review, you will participate in a field trip to perform a portion of the QC tests listed in the ARRT QM clinical competencies required for the advanced level QM examination. All students will progress through the application phase of training at their own rate.

Advanced Health can provide the opportunity to meet some of the clinical competency requirements for the ARRT advanced level exam for quality management, but cannot guarantee the competency can be met. The performance of each competency is dependent upon the participant’s individual skill level.
