SUMMARY:Quality Management Theory
DESCRIPTION:Register early and save! Please register early and reserve
your place by providing payment to avoid an additional $25 fee requir
ed for registrations given within two (2) weeks of the course.\nQualit
y management (QM) is of great importance for hospital and clinic-based
radiology departments accredited through the Joint Commission on Accr
editation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). It is also an important
part of mammography and compliance with the Mammography Quality Stand
ards Act (MQSA). QM requires a working knowledge of the quality improv
ement (QI) process and tools, quality control (QC), equipment testing
and regulatory guidelines. You will learn the basics of the quality ma
nagement process from the theoretical to practical application. A comb
ination of experts will introduce you to the fundamentals of QM. You w
ill learn from the pros how QM has evolved and how QI has changed. You
will receive “hands-on” application in designing QI monitors for
your facility. You will learn how a well-designed QM program will impr
ove imaging quality and patient care. In addition to the QC testing r
eview, you will participate in a field trip to perform a portion of th
e QC tests listed in the ARRT QM clinical competencies required for th
e advanced level QM examination. All students will progress through th
e application phase of training at their own rate. Advanced Health ca
n provide the opportunity to meet some of the clinical competency requ
irements for the ARRT advanced level exam for quality management, but
cannot guarantee the competency can be met. The performance of each co
mpetency is dependent upon the participant’s individual skill level.
