Target Audience:
Radiologists, Head and Neck Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Otologists, Radiation Oncology Physicians, Radiology and Otolaryngology residents or fellows, or other allied health care providers with an interest in the imaging of CNS and Head and Neck Pathology.
Course Description:
This 5 day course is designed to bring the practicing physician interested in imaging disease of the CNS and extracranial head and neck a range of useful and state-of-the-art information regarding the performance of imaging exams, the typical and unusual imaging findings, and pathology of a broad spectrum of diseases. The course is in a beautiful, resort setting, with first rate facilities and access to some of the nation’s finest shopping and culinary sites. Afternoons and evenings are your own to explore the region. The course has been structured to provide a wide range of lectures regarding common problems seen in an active practice. The faculty will lecture on disease of the brain and head and neck, and will also present interesting case sessions for active audience participation. The faculty is completely accessible for informal discussions, to answer questions, and to help participants with problem areas in imaging.
Course Objectives:
1. Review the normal anatomy of the head and neck as depicted on imaging studies, and understand the compartment approach to lesion location.
2. Comprehend the imaging approach to patients with several common head and neck presentations.
3. Increase your knowledge of the imaging and reporting of head and neck neoplasia, and the proper staging of tumors.
4. Discuss current thoughts of the imaging of CNS trauma, infection, and infarction.
5. Review nomenclature and some common and uncommon spine diseases
6. Comprehend the limitations of imaging in disease of the head and neck.
