Event Description

Register early and save! Please register early and reserve your place by providing payment to avoid an additional $25 fee required for registrations given within two (2) weeks of the course.

The curriculum will provide the technologist with all of the required components of training as outlined by MQSA and award 32 hours of Category A CE credit for the four day course. Additionally, technologist may complete the eight hour Digital Breast Tomosynthesis on the Monday following the training course. The course satisfies the eight hour MQSA modality training requirement for DBT.

You will cover every aspect of a mammography procedure required to meet initial training requirements as outlined by MQSA. The topics covered will include anatomy and physiology, hands-on positioning lab, film critique sessions and clinical participation, quality assurance, pathology, special procedures, imaging the augmented breast and eight hours of full field digital mammography is a requirement for the new mammography technologist whose primary imaging modality will be digital mammography.

**If you are currently using film screen at your facility you must add the eight hour “Film Screen Modality Initial Training” video to your registration.  The mammography video covers all of the film screen modality requirements and should be viewed and post test completed prior to attending the course.

The MQSA training requirements for 40 hours will be accomplished by completing the 32 hour training course (40 hours for those requiring film screen modality specific traning) and documenting performance of 25 hands-on supervised mammography procedures. AHEC offers two options for completion of the clinical component of the training.
