Event Description

This two-day Hands-on Introduction to Critical Care Ultrasound training course is designed to provide a strong foundation to perform the core ultrasound applications as outlined in the WINFOCUS and ACEP ultrasound practice guidelines.  The Critical Care Ultrasound program faculty includes leading critical care and emergency ultrasound expert physicians and sonographers to provide the perfect balance of a physician’s clinical experience and sonographer’s expertise. 

The Critical Care ultrasound training incorporates lectures, interactive case presentations using an audience response system, and extensive hands-on scanning, featuring a 3:1 ratio with live models and inanimate phantoms.  Topics include Ultrasound-guided procedures, Focused cardiac, Focused abdominal, Evaluation of DVT, and Evaluation of cardiac arrest, shock and hypotension.  Optional lunch sessions include abscess and joint aspiration, and Training/Credentialing.  This Critical Care ultrasound program also provides a log of 30+ supervised examinations to apply towards credentialing and/or certification requirements
