MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for the radiologist in general clinical practice. It is intended to provide an overview and update on wide variety of clinically relevant topics in diagnostic imaging, as well as an up-to-date assessment of the clinical uses of imaging modalities such as MDCT, MRI, PETCT and sonography in the diagnosis of diseases of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, central nervous system, musculoskeletal system, and vascular system. Ample time will be available for informal discussions with the course faculty and practical uses of imaging techniques will be stressed.
EARN SAM CREDIT
In addition, an opportunity for completion of a self-assessment module (SAM) will be offered during Monday’s session. “HRCT of the Infiltrative Lung Disease” (ABR # UCSS 02B0408-355) was approved for 1 SAM credit on April 1, 2008 and is qualified by the American Board of Radiology in meeting the criteria for self-assessment toward the purpose of fulfilling requirements in the ABR Maintenance of Certification Program. SAM credits are required for radiologists certified since 2002.
At the completion of this course,the attendee should be able to:
1. Diagnose large and small airway disease, common infiltrative lung diseases and pulmonary embolisms using CT, HRCT;
2. Identify current applications in interventional radiology for chest, OB/GYN, and hepatobiliary systems;
3. Accurately perform drainage interventions;
4. Demonstrate improved diagnosis of abdominal abnormalities including benign and malignant liver lesion and the acute pediatric abdomen;
5. Diagnose abnormalities of the hip, ankle, foot, bone marrow and cartilage with the use of magnetic resonance imaging;
6. Describe the principles and pitfalls of PETCT and SPECT;
7. Improve radiological interpretation of abnormalities in the central nervous system;
8. Understand the radiologist’s role in stroke prevention, evaluation and treatment.
Registration
Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure your space in this course and to have a syllabus and CME certificate available on site.
Pre-register by November 20, 2009 and save $75 on your enrollment fee. Pre-register for Breast Imaging (RAD 10 013) held the previous week in Kona and save an additional $125 on each course.
TUITION
$995 for practicing physicians;
$845 for fellows, residents, sonographers, technologists and nurses (with a letter of verification)
