MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This diversified course will focus on imaging techniques and image guided interventions as applied to a variety of body areas. The course is designed to help the practicing radiologist review established imaging protocols and techniques as well as understand newer clinical applications such as coronary CTA, interventional oncology, and neurointerventional procedures. A practical review of musculoskeletal, breast and abdominal imaging will be emphasized. Other important areas covered in the course will include chest imaging and neuroradiology

At the completion of the course, participants should be able to:

1. Describe the pros, the cons and the options for screening young women at high risk for breast cancer;
2. Develop a practical approach for assessing breast calcifications;
3. Understand the appropriate use, indications and reporting of breast ultrasound;
4. Gain a better understanding of the anatomy and MRI findings of the ankle, foot, knee, and shoulder.
5. Describe CT arthrography techniques and applications;
6. Recognize the typical imaging findings of benign and malignant adrenal, pancreatic, hepatic, and renal masses;
7. Review current CT imaging techniques for evaluating interstitial lung disease, suspected PE, and coronary arterial anatomy and pathology;
8. Apply a practical approach to imaging of cardiothoracic diseases to everyday cases;
9. Understand the importance and techniques to achieve low radiation dose imaging;
10. Gain a better understanding of intracranial hemorrhage and stroke imaging and state of the art neurointerventional procedures;
11. Understand the basic and advanced interventional techniques as related to biopsy, drainage,arterial intervention, embolization, and cancer therapy.
