Event Description

OVERVIEW

Targeted to all clinicians who are already accomplished at surface obstetric scanning and is presented as the final and optional day of our Hands-On OB/Pelvic Imaging course.  You'll learn the process and protocol to master the  delicate critical hands-eye skills to complete the transvaginal pelvic sonogram.  We'll focus on systematic inspection of the entire uterus, adnexa, and accessory pelvic structures.  We'll show you hoe to optimize both standard and post-processing controls to completely evaluate soft tissue anatomy.  You'll also learn how to make fullest use of color, spectral, and power Doppler to completely evaluate tissue vascularity.  Hands-on practice with live subjects.

TARGET AUDIENCE

-SONOGRAPHERS who are beginning or extending their career skills into this area who will be working under the direct supervision of qualified and experienced staff.

-NURSE PRACTITIONERS, PA's, NURSES and MIDWIVES already working in OB/Gyn that are implementing ultrasound into their practice.

- Use Doppler ultrasound features to evaluate gross vascularity and microvascular physiology in the evaluation of ovarian, uterine, and mass lesion histology.

- Identify and differentiate tubal pathology, including ectopic pregnancy.

- Cite the limits of spatial resolution and input dynamic range accorded by the higher frequency transvaginal probe transducer; compare it to surface pelvic imaging.
