Course Description: The principle objective of this program is to educate critical care physicians and other health professionals on how to perform and interpret ultrasound exams in the critical care setting. Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute’s Critical Care Ultrasound course offers a comprehensive hands-on approach to evaluate conditions including AAA/dissection, thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis, pneumothorax and DVT among others. The program faculty will help the clinicians recognize imaging characteristics of commonly seen cases in critical care, and help guide treatment based on the ultrasound findings. The strong hands-on component of this course and its low participant-to-instructor ratio (3:1) offer ample time scanning on a variety of live models.

Venue: The program will take place at Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute in beautiful St Pete Beach, Florida. The site is conveniently located in the beautiful Dolphin Village Center, and is within an easy, picturesque walk from a number of area gulf-front hotels. It offers a wide variety of services including gift shops, beach fashions, grocery, and of course, restaurants. In addition to the lure of our safe sparkling beaches, we are located within an easy drive to many of Central Florida's major attractions: Busch Gardens in Tampa is about a 35 minute drive; Walt Disney World/MGM Studios, Universal Studios-Florida, and Sea World.

Tampa Internationa Airport (TPA) and St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport (PIE) are the airports of choice when booking flight reservations.
