Combined: Introduction to Abdomen and OB 3 Day Ultrasound

The focus of this six day course is to provide participants with the “need to know” information to efficiently and effectively complete a general abdominal and basic OB ultrasound procedure. The first three days of the course is the presentation of the basic ultrasound techniques involved in completing an abdominal ultrasound series and general handling of the ultrasound device. The course comprises an introduction to normal ultrasound anatomy of the abdominal organs, followed by lecture presentations of the common pathologic changes encountered in a diagnostic procedure. The OB course includes evaluation of the non-gravid pelvis, fetal measurements and the ultrasound appearance of fetal anomalies. Lecture is followed each day by a faculty supervised hands on ultrasound scan lab. The Interactive scan lab with live models and small groups allow each participant ample opportunity to gain the knowledge and skill needed to independently perform a basic abdominal ultrasound procedure.
