Objectives & Topics
At the completion of this program, the participant should be able to:
1. Explain the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics/instrumentation.
2. Describe routine scan protocols, Biophysical profile, and measurements for performing transabdominal GYN, endovaginal scanning, and obstetric applications.
3. Identify normal and abnormal imaging characteristics of ovarian and uterine pathology as well as explain the indications and ultrasound findings for suspicion of an ectopic pregnancy.
4. Describe normal fetal anatomy, apply appropriate measurement techniques and discuss commonly seen fetal abnormalities.
5. Increase the participants’ knowledge to better perform and/or interpret gynecology and obstetrical ultrasound examinations.
6. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting (under supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been attained).

Target Audience
Sonographers, physicians, PAs and other medical professionals involved in performing OB-GYN ultrasound examinations. Also, physicians who are at an entry level of interpreting/performing OB-GYN exams. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) those involved with: OB-GYN, endocrinologists involved in performing GYN examinations, family practice, and emergency medicine. Nurse practitioners and midwives may also attend.
