MEETING DESCRIPTION:
Target Audience: Diagnostic and interventional radiologists and other radiology professionals at all stages of their careers with an interest in developing competencies in CT angiography of the heart and coronary arteries. Diagnostic and interventional radiologists and other radiology professionals at all stages of their careers with an interest in developing competencies in CT angiography of the heart and coronary arteries.
Objectives: Upon completion of the program, attendees will be able to:
* Describe the physical principles of cardiac CT angiography, including gating mechanisms and 3D reconstruction techniques
* Identify characterize, and quantify abnormalities of the coronary arteries, including atherosclerotic plaque and congenital anomalies
* Diagnose various conditions that comprise adult congenital heart disease
* Apply appropriate strategies to minimize the radiation dose and risk associated with cardiac CT angiography
* Apply effective protocols for the injection of intravenous contrast media for cardiac CT angiography
* Triage emergency room patients with chest pain for potential evaluation with cardiac CT angiography relative to other cardiac imaging tests
