Accreditation Statement:
This course provides 12 CPD Credits in accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Course Description:
The course is designed to illustrate basic and advanced concepts and radiologic-pathologic correlation in Musculoskeletal Imaging in order to enhance practitioner knowledge and skills.
Lack of understanding of the underlying pathology can lead
to misinterpretation of radiologic images and the potential to
overlook important complications such a neoplastic recurrence.
The need for radiologic-pathologic correlation is considered
so important by the radiology community that the ACGME
requires radiologic correlation as part of the training of radiology residents.
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Identify imaging characteristics of lesions involving the
musculoskeletal system that allow for narrowing of the
differential diagnosis
• Illustrate how the underlying pathology of the lesion
contributes to its imaging characteristics
