ABOUT THE MEETING

Health care reform in the United States has been passed and is currently being implemented in earnest. Changes will continue to occur rapidly regardless of which party wins the next federal election in 2012. The impact on radiology has already been profound and the need to be both informed and prepared has never been greater. Last year's symposium predicted many of these changes. This year, the faculty will provide attendees with unique, actionable strategies to position themselves and their practices appropriately.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is intended for radiologists with leadership positions in their practices and for those who seek the skills to become practice leaders. The information will be valuable for those in private practice, group practice, and academics, and for radiology business executives, particularly those involved with the operations, management, growth, marketing, and infrastructure development of their practices.

For maximum impact, groups should consider having both radiologists and business executives attend together for more efficient implementation of course information within their practices.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

Describe proposed new payment models and prepare for the roles radiology can play in those models
Discuss the impact of health care reform on radiology and radiologists
Implement strategies to deal with productivity issues in radiology practices
Negotiate more effectively with hospital administrators and managed care entities
Develop strategies to prepare for ACO participation
