Overview

Please save the date for this week-long meeting at the Hilton Papagayo, Costa Rica. We hope you can join us and be sure and check your Spring Break Calendar to see if it coincides so you can bring the entire family.
We're pleased to announce that Dr. Evan Siegelman (from the University of Pennsylvania Med Centre) and Dr. D. David Dershaw (Sloan Kettering Cancer Ctr, NYC) will be our two guest faculty.

This 4 half-day course will serve as a review of relevant radiology topics with a particular focus on oncology and areas where radiology is making a difference: screening, detection, staging, problem-solving and followup. The course has been designed to provide an update on current practice in the fields of chest, breast, thyroid, abdomen and pelvis imaging.

Radiologists, oncologists, surgeons, residents/fellows & techs.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Apply principles of evidence-based radiology to their everyday practice
2. Determine which specific MRI techniques are advantageous in oncologic imaging
3. Assess the benefits of using various imaging modalities in the evaluation of hepatic, renal and gynecologic malignancies
4. Evaluate essential imaging findings which alter clinical management in colorectal cancer
5. Improve patient management through enhanced knowledge of current breast imaging options such as MRI and screening of the high-risk patient
6. Outline current concepts of lung cancer staging, pleural malignancies and evaluation of the solitary pulmonary nodule
7. Understand where radiologists can impact clinical management of lymphoma
8. Develop an approach in distinguishing benign from malignant fractures
