Good evening madam .Few days back i did a dorsal spine scan .,in request surgeon written that plain and contrast .till now i didnt use contrast media in spine scan.For spine scan how much i should use contrast media .Indication was spinal tumor post op.

Their are soem pathology that you do not see when you do supine. Also you want to find out if the lesion in supine position changes its location when placing the patien in a prone position. Gravity have somehting to do with it. With atelectasis you want to find out the layering of the fluid.

Hi, Joyce. I do CT for ENT only. Just sinus and temporal bone. I use a small 8 slice scanner - www.NEUROLOGICA.com
Although I have been a registered tech since 1972 my CT experience is limited.
Any tips you can share for these scans would be appreciated!
