Leaders need training too. That’s why the Radiologist Leadership Institute is holding a 12-week online program for radiologists entering their first leadership position or those who are hoping to advance their career to the leadership level.
“RLI Breakthrough Leadership: Maximizing your Influence and Impact” will run through October 3, 2017 to May 8, 2017 and will focus on three modules:
The hospital boardroom. This module covers organizational structure, performance measures, and learning to interpret financial documents.
Stewarding the department. Participants will learn strategies for building and supporting effective teams, design, and accountability.
Influencing change at the hospital level. Radiologists will learn the ins and outs of business planning, financial forecasting and conflicts, integrity, and the legal department.
The program is a blend of live virtual lectures and self-directed assignments. Participants engage in faculty-led online forums and sessions led by experts in the field.
Based in Northern Virginia, the Radiology Leadership Institute hosts a series of courses and certificate programs on business and management skills for emerging leaders in radiology. They also hold an annual summit where they recognize exceptional radiologists with the Leadership Luminary Awards.
“It’s only natural that radiologists look for management and leadership training, as they adjust to the pressures of improving the quality of healthcare to influence change,” said Geoffrey D. Rubin, MD, Director of the RLE Breakthrough Leadership program.
