Abella A new 3D, fast spin-echo MR sequence at 3T could one day help musculoskeletal radiologists perform a comprehensive evaluation of articular cartilage of the knee in only five minutes, according to researchers from Wisconsin and California. More than 20 million people suffer from osteoarthritis, which is second only to cardiovascular disease as the leading cause of disability in the U.S. Accurate articular cartilage imaging is key to assessing the efficacy of treatment with drugs or surgical repair, and MR remains the most accurate noninvasive exam.
