December 4, 2008 DiagnosticImaging.com. GE launches new digital XR systems By Greg Freiherr Expanding its portfolio in digital radiography, GE Healthcare introduced at RSNA 2008 a new high-end DR product, Discovery XR650, and midtier unit, Optima XR640.
Discovery XR650 takes over the company’s flagship position in DR, offering advanced clinical features such as Dual Energy Subtraction, which can be used to eliminate overlying bone in chest or abdominal images, and VolumeRAD to provide multiple high-resolution slice images. Automated features built into the new system are geared to improving workflow and patient experience, including auto-image paste, autopositioning, protocol assist, and autoprocessing. A portable detector is available as an option.
