The Radiological Society of North America annual meeting will kick off on Sunday, November 26 at the McCormick Place in Chicago. There are many panels, workshops, discussions, and reading sessions happening every day. You can plan out your schedule with the RSNA program, yet, here are some special events that radRounds recommends on prioritizing:

The Opening Session. From 8:30 to 10:15 am, RSNA president Richard L. Ehman, MD, founder of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, Roderic I. Pettigrew, MD, PhD, and Elias A. Zerhouni, MD, the former director of the National Institutes of Health will be sharing opening remarks and presenting awards.

Will MACRA and MIPS Kill Your Practice? Later in the day, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, David Levin, MD, professor and chairman emeritus of Jefferson Medical College’s department of radiology will be leading a session on why the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System and Medicare Access won’t threaten the livelihood of your radiology business.

Interacting Effectively with Referring Physicians in the Digital Age. On Monday, November 27 between 8:30 and 10:00am, Andrew B. Rosenkrantz, MD, MPA, section chief of body imaging at NYU Langone Medical Center and four others will be facilitating a session on fostering relationships between radiologists and referring physicians.

Cybersecurity for Imaging Departments and Imagers – Threats, Vulnerabilities and Best Practices: Part 1. On Tuesday, November 28 from 8:30 to 10:00 am, learn about the common security threats plaguing medical technology. This workshop will give participants a run-down on how to protect healthcare data from security breaches and what kind of cyber threats can affect patient privacy.

Growing Your Business with Social Media: Tips and Tricks for Department and Practice Managers. On Wednesday, November 29 from 8:30 to 10:00 am, learn the meaning of “personal branding” and how to grow your practice and through social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
