Planar Systems makes sale of subsidiary for $5 Million to NDS Surgical Imaging

Chela Capital Partners, the advisory firm of Planar Systems, Inc. has been advising Planar Systems on the sale of their not so successful venture medical business unit to NDS Surgical Imaging, a leader in the surgical imaging space for various hospitals in the country for thirty five million dollars in cash.

The sale is structured in a way that all the outstanding capital stock of is transferred to Dome Imaging Systems Inc, which is a direct subsidiary of Planar Systems. Dome Imaging Systems has been very successful in medical grade diagnostic imaging. They have been market leader in medical grade diagnostic imaging used in radiology and cardiology applications and orthopaedic imaging and products for patient monitoring.

“We approached a select number of prospective buyers globally during the process. We strongly believe that the combination of Dome Imaging and NDS represents the best strategic fit. Together the companies will command a significant market share in the medical visualization market.
