Prof. Ifeoma Okoye, MB.BCH, FMCR, FWACS
Prof Okoye is currently a Professor of Radiology at the College Of Medicine, University Of Nigeria, Nsukka, and Enugu Campus (UNNEC). She has been in medical practice for over 29 years and joined the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu (UNTH), 18 yrs ago as a Consultant Radiologist, after becoming a Fellow of; The Nigerian Medical College of Radiologists, and Fellow of, The West African College of Surgeons. Within the university and her profession, Prof. Okoye has held several prominent and leadership positions including; member of the Faculty Board Of Radiology of the Nigerian Medical College of Radiologists (1991-till date), Examiner at the Postgraduate College Of Nigeria (1995 till date), past Clinical Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences and Dentistry of The College Of Medicine, UNNEC, Past President, Association of Radiologists of West Africa (April 2003 To April 2005), Past Chair of Department of Radiology, UNTH, for four un-consecutive tenures, Past President Medical Women Association Of Nigeria, Anambra/Enugu State, Advancement Officer of the College Of Medicine. She is currently a Supervisor of Master’s Program at UNNEC Postgraduate School; Chairman, UNTH Resource Foundation [URF), Assistant Editor, West African Journal of Radiology (1990 to date), & a Chief Editor of 'Journal of Medical Sciences and Hospital Management'
Prof Okoye is a renowned social change agent. She is the founder and chairman of the Association for Good Clinical Practice in Nigeria [AGCPN]: an initiative that has been promoting responsible conduct of Human Research and the development of infrastructure for clinical trials in Nigeria through government-regulatory body advocacy /media sensitisation, conferences and training workshops. It also serves as an umbrella organisation networking investigators/clinical trialists in Nigeria. AGCPN has through its annual capacity building workshops in Nigeria for the past 5 years a pool of GCP compliant investigators within the country.In Nov 2009, AGCPN was given an official mandate by the Nigerian Food and Drug Administration and Control to coordinate the review of Nigeria’s Clinical Trial Regulations and to this aim on 26th-29th April, successfully conducted a joint initiating -AGCPN/NAFDAC workshop, AIMED AT PREPARING Nigeria to become a favoured CT destination.
She is also the founder of, ‘BWS – Breast Without Spot’ Initiative, a Not-For Profit Health Organization, based in Nigeria and the UK, that kicked off as a Breast cancer prevention Initiative, but has in the last one year significantly contributed to the discuss on Cervical and prostate cancer awareness. Her country-wide cancer prevention awareness scheme is hinged on dedicated production of an army of change-makers/ foot-soldiers to pass on the ‘Cancer Can be Prevented/Early detection saves life’ message, one-on-one to both grassroots and urban communities in Nigeria.
She is the African Coordinator of CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) - (2007-date), which is an initiative based at the University of Miami, that delivers high quality web based ethics education to the research community.
Prof. Okoye is the recipient of the ASHOKA FELLOWSHIP in recognition of her Social entrepreneurship Innovative work with AGCPN. Prof Okoye is also a renowned scholar and researcher with over 57 scientific publications and more than 40 presentations at conferences. She is also sole and main contributory Author of six books.

o SUPERVISOR OF MASTER'S PROGRAM AT College of Medicine, UNNEC Postgraduate School
o CHAIRMAN, UNTH Resource Foundation [URF] - Foundation, dedicated to 'Saving the Lives We can save' through encouraging public-private partnerships on behalf of our teaching hospital. URF attracted 3 container loads of medical equipment for the hospital and a mobile ultrasound unit.

o ASSISTANT EDITOR, West African Journal Of Radiology: The official publication of Association of Radiologists of West Africa. (1990 to date). Was the first Radiology journal in Africa and remained so until 2006 when a 2nd one emerged.
