Radiology Technologist, Unevirsity of South Alabama Mrdical Center, Mobile, AL 04/2014 – 06/2014

I worked as a Temporay / PRN tech performong routine x-ray and C-arm exams in the main deprtment , ER, and in Surgery.

President / Operator Mid-South Radiology, Inc. , Killen, AL 10/2002- 11/2013

Mid-South Radiology is a mobile-x-ray company that services nursing home facilities, hospices, home healthcare providers, and private physicians. I perform routine x-ray and EKG exams on site at the patient’s bedside. I’m responsible for receiving the exam order, performing the exam, checking to ensure the exam is of the highest quality, getting it read by the radiologist, and providing the report to the customer with the fastest turnaround time possible.

I’m was also responsible for all administration duties such as budgeting, billing, filing reports, marketing, equipment purchases, supplies, and ensuring that all equipment and records are in compliance.

I was a day shift rad. tech. I performed routine x-ray exams on a daily basis for out patient, emergency room, and surgery, and I worked in CT as needed.

I over saw the daily operations of the Imaging Center. As well as performing routine x-ray, CT, Fluoro, and MRI Exams. Duties also included equipment purchasing, maintenance contracts, making employee work schedule, maintaining supplies, developing policies as need, assuring a good relationship with area physicians, and marketing.

I began as a 3rd shift radiological technologist. After a year as a 3rd shift technologist where I covered the E.R., surgery, and the main department, I was promoted to supervisor / asst. director. My duties included working as a tech and supervisor of the main department. I supervised the E.R imaging, surgery, CT, MRI, scheduling, quality control, transcription, and the off campus satellite clinics imaging departments.
My job description then increased to making out the work / call schedules for 70 +employees, including technologist in all areas of the imaging department, transcriptionist, patient transporters, and patient schedulers.
I assisted in equipment purchasing, maintenance contracts, implementing PACS, marketing for the imaging center, cross training technologist in different modalities, department budgeting, and ensuring the staff was up to date with CPR and CEU’s depending upon their particular job classification. I sat on various committees including several on passing the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) that were all passed successfully.

I performed routine x-ray in the main department, in the orthopedic clinic, and portable exams covering all of the facility. I also operated a c-arm in surgery and trauma unit.

Radiology Technologist Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Florence, AL 5/1989-5/1992
I performed routine x-ray exams in the main department, portable exams where needed, and ran the c-arm in surgery. The last two years I was there I was a full time surgery tech.
