In Ukraine the MD (Likar) degree takes 6 yrs then 1,5-2 yrs of specialisation in roentgen diagnostics so called (internatura) then obligatory work at government hospitals for 3 yrs. Generally, it was borrowed from German educational system in early Soviet times
