Additional description or bio about me:

1. Situation: I am looking for a new radiology opportunity after ~5 productive years at Lapeer Regional Medical Center and Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital & RMC. The practice, run by the Kellam & Associates, PC in the economically challenged Detroit metro region, has been the victim of losing 3 major contracts in the past 6 months, and finally, there was little work left for me; unfortunately, time to move on.

2. Location: My family and I have been living in the very nice community of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, (~10 miles east of Detroit), for the past 11 years. My son Daniel is a sophomore in Grosse Pointe South High School; my daughter Lauren, a sophomore at Michigan State University, in East Lansing, MI. My wife Wendy is completing her Master's Degree in Art History at Wayne State University, in Detroit; so you can see we are established in the area.

3. Radiologic Expertise: I am a general radiologist, with additional training/expertise in Breast Imaging; however, I have extensive experience with standard interventional procedures:
--Lung; Liver/Pancreas/Kidney/Adrenal; MSK/Bone; & Neck/Groin lymph node biopsies;
--Stereo/Ultrasound-guided Breast core-needle biopsies; including Breast MR & biopsies;
--Musculoskeletal MR arthrograms, (shoulder, hip & wrist);
--Venous access/PICC lines.

As well as:
--Diagnostic Aorta/Renal/Peripheral-Vascular & Carotid Artery CT angiography;
--Whole Body PET/CT scans;
--Pediatric Ultrasound: newborn head, stomach-pylorus, newborn hips.

3. Longer term placement: an ideal practice setting would likely be a community-based hospital setting; allowing me to practice the variety of general radiology. Pure outpatient radiology may have the advantages of no weekends/holidays, but the money is usually much less. Also, I would appreciate being part of a teaching program, at least some of my time.

Please note that I can locate in SE Michigan anywhere from Port Huron to Flint, out to Ann Arbor, and down to Monroe, or beyond.

4. Shorter term placement: I can easily perform locums work anywhere in Michigan, perhaps even on a 2-4 month basis. Also, I am completing the final stages of re-activating my Pennsylvania and Virginia licenses.

5. Conclusion: Most important, I am afforded the opportunity to solve problems every day. So I write now to start the process in securing a position to utilize my talents.
