Vestibular Schwannoma
Synonyms: Acoustic neuroma, acoustic neurinoma, acoustic neurilemoma
• Arise from the vestibulocochlear nerve (CN VIII).
• 80% of cerebello-pontine angle masses.
• When bilateral are strongly suggestive of NF2.
• Benign slowly growing.
Differential diagnosis by mnemonic SEAM
• S = Schwannoma
• E = Epidermoid
• A = Arachnoid cyst and Aneurysm
• M = Meningioma and Metastasis.
