Teaching File - Chronic Tophaceous Gout

his patient has severe tophaceous gout involving the ankle and subtalar joints and many of the small joints of the foot. The CT demonstrates numerous hyperdense intra-articular and periarticular masses consistent with tophi, with erosions and destruction of some of the joints.
