The best way to diagnose GI tract disorders consists of doing fluoroscopy with compression, coned down views, when we meet segmentary rigidity. In contrast to endoscopy which is morphological examination, with fluoroscopy we can study not only the morphology but the function as well.

Filled up stomach with barium shows only the rigidity of the lesser curvature, but with compression we discover a malignant necrotic ulcer of the gastric tumor.
