So called compound volvulus is seen when small bowel is making another knot around the point of previous volvulus. It is usually seen in the volvulus of sigmoid amid the ileal loops with the probable obstruction of the SB. Surgeon should be informed of that, otherwise occlusion of the SB follows the treating operation of the sigmoid volvulus.

Thanks Dr. Saeed for these info; really valuable data. I have question please: How can this entity usually diagnosed? Is it surgical diagnosis or can be diagnosed by one of the imaging modalities?
