As i understand, area gastricae is different from rugae in which they are fine linear pattern of mucosa that may be seen normally in antrum and less in fundus. Coarsening of this area gastricae may denote gastric hypersecretion or acute gastritis.
If i'm right please tell me.
My question to you as great expert in GI imaging; what is the difference between this entity and thickened gastric rugae and how to differentiate on barium study?
