Thick and adherent meconium may create erosions on the wall of the intestine and if this happens to be at the moment of delivery the first respiration will be seen as the hydropneumoperitoneum in the abdomen of the neonate.

You are right, all these complications are due to meconium, whether associated with pancreas disorders or not we don't know really. Anyway thank you very much for your comment and notice.
