Irregular radiopaque lines

These were found on Xrays of a female Asian patient. The left and right side both showed these lines, but other images using the same sensor (but of the mandibular teeth) do not show the same pattern. Any thoughts on what the differential diagnosis could be? Has anyone every seen this? The patient was not wearing anything visible around the gingival area.
