absence of lymph nodes &tonsils is a feature of sever combind immune deficiency(SCID).

Absence of adenoid in neonate is probably a sign of immunity compromise and should be studied by en face and lateral radiographies of the chest to find out thymic shadow. Its concommitant absence would suggest diagnosis.
